About Us
We are expanding and seeking a highly motivated and experienced policy advocacy consultant to drive our policy advocacy and Government engagement practice based in our Hanoi office.
Role Overview
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in government relations, policy research and advocacy, and high-level stakeholder engagement. They should have significant experience in project management and communicating with senior business executives. Exceptional research, analytical and interpersonal skills are essential, along with full professional proficiency in English as well as fluency in policy, political, and issue analysis in Vietnam and regionally.
We are looking for someone with a strong track record in policy advocacy and government affairs and possess a bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant discipline, such as business, economics, international relations, communications, law, or a related field.
Responsibilities include
- Structuring and proposing solutions to client challenges and issues
- Building, managing, and nurturing client relationships
- Overseeing the preparation, drafting, and finalization of analytical reports
- Leading project work, including research, preparing policy papers and engaging with relevant stakeholders to advocate for client policy objectives, as well as leading conversations with clients.
- Managing project costs and budget
- Assisting clients in handling queries from the government
- Building networks and relationships with bureaucrats and public officials, the business community, civil society organizations, government institutions, and other relevant stakeholders
- Driving business development efforts, including the drafting of proposals and active participation in pitches and client communications as appropriate
- Working on special projects as needed and assigned
Desired Skills and Experience
- Minimum eight years of experience in government relations, policy advocacy, and/or strategic communications.
- Demonstrated experience in structuring policy advocacy solutions and engaging and maintaining working relationships with mid to senior-level government officials and business executives.
- Strong familiarity with government systems and stakeholders, trade associations, coupled with a high-level understanding of the investment climate, policy climate and media environment.
- Ability to interpret complex current issues, policy and political movements to produce concise and client-ready briefings and reports.
- Engaging interpersonal negotiation and communication skills, including experience in cross-cultural environments and international settings.
- Fluent in English and Vietnamese, both written and spoken
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and meet deadlines
- The ability to mentor and train junior team members
- Capacity to mentor and train junior team members
- Resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
