Hanoi, 12 May 2014 - The Asia-Pacific Media Alliance for Social Awareness (‘The Media Alliance’) is pleased to announce the appointment of three advisors from Vietnam to its regional Board of Advisors.

Vietnam is one of five countries in which The Media Alliance is undertaking its ‘Redraw The Line’ climate change awareness campaign on behalf of Sweden and the Asian Development Bank.

The new advisors are high profile media and advertising personalities who have been providing strategic advice on the implementation of campaign activities in Vietnam.

They are (in alphabetical order) Do Hoai Anh, Managing Director of Pioneer Marketing & Communications; Le Quoc Vinh, Chairman & CEO of Le Group of Companies; and Nguyen Thanh Son, General Director of T&A Ogilvy.

Do Hoai Anh founded Pioneer Marketing & Communications in 2004 after a successful decade-long career in journalism and corporate communications. He excelled in managing corporate reputation for multinationals such as the Ford Motor Company and now has numerous multinational and major local corporations as clients including Abbott, Acelife, BSA|the Software Alliance, Bosch Home Appliances, Dun & Bradstreet, Ericsson, Greenfeed, Goodyear, Microsoft, IZZI Milk, Italian Trade Commission, Mixxo whey, TH Milk and Vietnamobile.

Hoai Anh has excellent knowledge of the Vietnamese media landscape and he is proud of being the architect of the Vietnam Day in Sweden publicity program, sponsored by Comvik International Vietnam AB, one of the largest PR campaigns ever to showcase Vietnam’s culture and investment environment to the world. Hoai Anh holds a Diploma in Business Management from Henley Management College, UK, and a BA from the Hanoi University for Foreign Studies.

Le Quoc Vinh is Chairman & CEO of Le Invest (Holdings) Corporation – (Le Group of Companies) with three subsidiary companies: Le Media JSC, Le & Brothers Limited (Le Bros), and Vietnam CEO Corporation, which are recognized as leading publishing, media, marketing, PR and event management companies in Vietnam. He is also founder and Board member of Fansipan Media Corporation, owner and operator of Giai Tri TV channel. 

Quoc Vinh has a background in journalism and is the founder or reformer of various local newspapers and magazines in Vietnam including Dep (Beauty), TTVH & Dan Ong (Gentlemen), Doanh Nhan (Entrepreneur) magazine, and a pioneer in franchising international titles into Vietnam such as Autocar Vietnam and Stuff Vietnam. He is

recognized as an expert in marketing and communications, and is a lecturer in public relations for the Academy of Journalism and Communications (AJC), University of Social Sciences and Humanity (USSH), and RMIT. He is also a co-founder of the PR Elite School, a public relations training institution.

Nguyen Thanh Son is an entrepreneur, lecturer, author and communications expert. He founded T&A Communications in 1996 which was partly acquired by WPP in 2008 and turned into a joint venture called T&A Ogilvy. He now serves as General Director of T&A Ogilvy, the largest PR agency in Vietnam.

With a Master’s degree in International Journalism from the Moscow Institute of International Relations, Thanh Son began his career as a desk editor with the Vietnam News Agency and then moved on to the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and later worked as Trade Representative for the Oklahoma Department of Commerce in ASEAN countries. He is widely known as a literary critic and lectures on communications at the Hanoi National University. He is also Chairman of Blue Productions Limited, a production house in Ho Chi Minh City, Chairman and Founder of Sage Branding and Communications Academy, and founding curator of the HCMC Hub of Global Shapers, a young leaders community of the World Economic Forum.

The Chairman of The Media Alliance, David Astley, said the addition of three expert advisors from Vietnam would provide staff working in that country with valuable direction on campaign strategy.

“We are fortunate to have such high level advisors who are both well known in the media and communication fields in Vietnam and who have a personal commitment to leveraging the power of the media to advance social development causes,” he said.

The Asia-Pacific Media Alliance for Social Awareness (‘The Media Alliance’) is a Singapore-based non-profit organisation formed in 2009 to leverage valuable media “inventory” or media space for the delivery of critical pro-social messaging through Public Service Advertising, entertainment and editorial content.
